River Ramblings
My first journal entry! Wow! Now, what shall I talk about? How about a little info on me?
Let's see, I'm older than dirt (63), married for 46 years to the love of my life. Jim is a double leg amputee and 2 time cancer survivor. Life has changed these past 4 years. I'm now the one who does all the wood hauling. I didn't know how good I had it, folks.
We live on a river in Northern Michigan, USA (thus, Riverat). This has been one cold, miserable winter, let me tell you. Every time I trudge through the ever growing feet of snow, I ask myself why in the world we didn't move to our favorite place, Key West, Florida. Course, one has to deal with hurricanes then....been there...done that and it wasn't very much fun. Guess I'll just stay here and complain (LOL).
Jim and I share our lives with our two spoiled pups, Susie and Amanda. Susie is a Bichon, Cairn Terrier, Maltese, Shih Tzu mix and Amanda is a Bichon. Susie was a life saver for Jim when he was going through chemo. She never left his side the entire time. Amanda was Jim's reward for living through chemo. He wanted a puppy and I figured he deserved her. Course, the man never told me just how difficult it is to house train Bichons! The little bitty is just now getting there and it's been almost 4 years.
The things that keep me from going mental? That would be any computer graphics. I'm into Paint Shop Pro, Photoshop, Photo Impact and very basic animation. I struggle with PS. It seems that just about the time I have it figured out....I don't. PSP is probably the program I'm best at. I've been using it since V5, so it rarely gives me fits. I love text in Photo Impact, but have run into a program problem with it. I've got a goof in the registry and can't figure out how to get rid of it. Actually, I can't find the fool goof to get rid of it. Sure wish they'd name those things so you could find them!
Hope the new year is going well for all of you. I have high hopes with the changes in the political climate here in the USA.
Hugs, Diane
